Activated iPhones and bad MobileMe sales in Apple's retail stores

"Confessions", as announced in the title of the original article, not the stories from the Apple store everyday, the interview published here by popular mechanics with an Apple store employee is still worth reading and conveys a sense of how it works behind the scenes of Apple branch shops is. Two excerpts:

Sales targets and MobileMe: "We are rewarded with sales commissions, but making already caring for his job when it sold enough." We expected we should sell as the Apple care protection plan, so the three-year warranty extension with virtually every product. And frankly, things are not bad deal and need any great persuasion. MobileMe, however, also here you of course instructs us to sale, is hardly to the man. "No one creates the MobileMe packages to sell it."

The customer request for free SIM cards: "Every day we get an option of course, we offer numerous requests from customers that their iPhone would like to unlock." Typically, let's just say the customers that the iPhone would no longer work after a unlock and expensive paperweight they could use the device only as $700. Sure, much true is not listed, but this is our language. "And if designated to times a customer with an unlocked device with us at the service desk: we grasp of it not."
